About BalletPlan
AI-Powered Scheduling for Ballet Companies
What is BalletPlan?
BalletPlan is a scheduling tool built specifically for professional ballet companies. Putting together a weekly rehearsal schedule is a complex puzzle: dozens of dancers, multiple studios, teachers with limited availability, and strict rules about who can be where and when. What used to take hours of manual work can now be done in seconds.
BalletPlan generates complete, conflict-free rehearsal plans that respect every constraint your company has, from dancer rest requirements to studio capacity, and lets you fine-tune the result before publishing it to your team.
How does it work?
You describe your company once: your studios, dancers, teachers, and the repertoire you are working on. Each week you define which rehearsals need to happen and any special rules or priorities for that week.
Behind the scenes, a mathematical optimisation engine works through thousands of possible combinations to find a schedule that fits everything together. Think of it like a very fast, very thorough puzzle-solver. The result is a ready-to-use timetable that you can review, lock individual blocks and rerun the optimiser for the rest, and then hand off to your company. All within a few minutes.
Academic Foundation
The optimisation model at the core of BalletPlan is grounded in academic research. It was originally developed as part of a master's thesis:
